Audio Visual Service Delivery Manager, Corporate In-house Client & MSP Experience, US & UK Bases, Immediately Available

I have known this candidate for several years, initially as a hiring client, and have met him several times at industry events such as ISE and The AV Awards (http://www.avawards.com/). He is an approachable and professional person who is well respected in the UK Pro AV community.

This candidate has a track record of success in delivering technology based business solutions for corporate enterprises. He got into AV and collaborative technologies working directly for an end-user client – a large investment firm in New York. He oversaw the complete overhaul of their Audio Visual and Video Conferencing systems and infrastructure, working with senior management to increase user confidence and adoption, enabling the technology to deliver its aims in line with the business needs. This massive undertaking was a complete success, the outcome of which was a significant difference to the company’s bottom line.

Following this initial success, he went on to manage the company’s AV services, implementing service level agreements with third party service providers, ensuring value for the client and reducing AV project turnaround times by 30%.

In 2008 he took the opportunity to establish and develop the European division of a US enterprise level AV solutions and services provider. Again, he was successful in this, building in his previous experience to manage the operation, recruit the required technical and sales staff, build relationships with vendors and service providers, with overall responsibility for budgets and profit & loss.

During this time, he gained experience working with a variety of large corporate customers, gaining insight into the different methods and possibilities of utilising AV and collaboration technologies. This knowledge will be invaluable to end-user clients that he works with in the future, either as an in-house specialist, or with an external service provider in a service delivery role.

This candidate has unique skills and experiences that can make a genuine and sizable difference to the outcomes for organisations looking to get the most from their enterprise technologies.

With bases in the UK (South East) and the US (New York) he is open to opportunities on either side of the Atlantic. He is flexible on salary and is keen to find an opportunity that excites him, where he can make use of his knowledge and experience, and make a difference for his new employer. He is available at short notice and eager to get his teeth into a suitable role as soon as possible.

AV Installation Engineer, London Based, Available June 11th 2012, Permanent

This candidate is a little less experienced than most of the people we speak to here at AV Jobs; he is at an early stage of his career, but has already picked up some good AV skills and has worked in The City on high end installations, and proven his worth on a large project there. It would be great to help him find an opportunity where he can further develop and also reward his employer with dedication and enthusiasm for AV.

Currently working as an AV installation engineer on a contract basis for a top systems integrator on a multi-storey AV and VC refit for an investment bank  in The City of London. He has worked on this contract for the last 9 months and in that time has installed a wide range of AV and VC equipment to first and second fix stages, including projectors, screens, displays, racks, Crestron switches, Extron switches, Polycom VC endpoints and associated cabling. He has also pulled and terminated various types of cables across multiple floors of the installation.

This candidate is looking for a long term opportunity to work in the AV industry with an employer that can make use of his current skills and also allow him the opportunity to further develop. He has already passed the Infocomm CTS essentials course and hols a valid CSCS card as well as training in working at heights and general health & safety. He is based in East London and has a full UK driving license. He is currently earning the equivalent of £24K on his current contract and is looking for a similar level in his next role, although his main priority is a long term opportunity with a genuine career path.

AV Technical Sales Manager, West Midlands Based, Strong Channel & End User Project Sales Experience, Reseller Contacts, Immediately Available

I first met this candidate at XSolutions (http://www.xsolutionsonthenet.net/) in London last year, and then again at ISE 2012 (http://www.iseurope.org/home.php) in Amsterdam. He got in touch as he has just parted company with his last employer and is keen to find the right long term opportunity where he can progress his career.

This candidate is an accomplished Technical Sales Manager with a strong background in Audio Visual solutions sales and installation project management. He has an excellent technical understanding of AV solutions and enjoys advising clients on specific Pro AV projects, working with them to specify the right technologies for their systems, based on their business objectives. He has an excellent track record of working closely with end users, AV consultants, architects and system specifiers. Also has an extensive network of AV reseller contacts across the UK, including the Midlands and North of England.

This candidate has recently finished working for a specialist distributor, selling AV products into the reseller channel UK wide; although he enjoyed many aspects of the role, he finished working for them at the end of May 2012. This was agreed mutually and the main issues were the lack of project involvement (more order taking/box shifting than he would like) and that the product range he looked after included a large amount of Pro Audio kit, which is not his strongest area.

Now keen to find a sales opportunity where he can make use of his technical knowledge of AV (including specifying solutions, which he has done extensively on previous sales) and his account management and business development skills – he has a strong track record of growing AV sales divisions and winning new customers. He is based in the West Midlands, with easy access to the North West of England and the Midlands, and is used to covering a UK wide territory. Looking for a basic salary of around £30K plus car or car allowance and a good OTE (previous OTE was £45K). He is available to start immediately for the right opportunity.

If you can offer this candidate an opportunity or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me: david@avjobs.co.uk
